Most decisions can only affect us till we die; but one affects us forever:

THE BAD NEWS: There is a hell awaiting the devil and his angels; and all of us have sinned and have earned our place there, too…

THE GOOD NEWS: Mercy is NOT getting what we deserve!  Jesus came to save sinners; to do for us what we could not do for ourselves. Taking our sin, He died the death we deserve; He rose again three days later to offer us forgiveness AND RIGHTEOUSNESS.  There is a heaven, not as a reward for those who earn it, but as a gift to those who repent (confess we deserve hell and need a Savior) and by faith give their lives to God.

Jesus said, “If you confess me before men, I will confess you before my Father in Heaven,” so we close each service with a song as an invitation for you to come to the front and tell the pastor you have decided to follow Jesus.  We will rejoice with you over your once in a lifetime choice!

If you belong to another church, and believe God wants you to join Mountain Peak Community Baptist Church, let the pastor know, and he will set a time to present you to the church.

Psalm 133 says, “How good and how pleasant it is for the brethren to dwell together in unity, for there the Lord has commanded the blessing, even life forevermore.”  Joining this church is entering into covenant with all the other members and should only be done if…

In joining this church I promise to love my church family in the following ways:

  • I will come to church regularly, I will give cheerfully.

  • I will not listen to hearsay, nor will I speak evil of any church member.

  • I will forgive freely, and never hold a grudge.

  • If I see my brother/sister sin, I’ll speak to them in love and in private.

  • If they refuse to hear, I will seek the pastor’s counsel.
